The U.S. Chamber of Commerce isn't spending as much as the AFl-CIO to campaign in targeted Senate states, but the states, for the nation's top business lobby, are no less significant.
Their final push advertising begins today. It's about card check legislation, of course, and it features a real union boss getting pretty angry..."Meet Bill. A real union boss. Here's Bill, assaulting a camera man. The unions are pressuring Congress to pass a card check bill. So union bosses like Bill can know how you vote in union elections...denying you the right to a private vote." Bill: "I'm going to take this camera and put it somewhere you don't want it." Bill, btw, is Bill Londrigan of the Kentucky AFl-CIO. His miffed-ness was caught by a film crew over the summer. |
