The video you posted is not a fair way to introduce Stéphane Dion to your readers. He is a respected political scholar whose first language is French (and who is apparently somewhat hard of hearing). He is more bilingual than most of his English-Canadian counterparts. How would you respond to a similarly convoluted hypothetical question asked in a language you have yet to master? Dion was merely asking the interviewer to clarify a somewhat confusing timeline. He is no Sarah Palin.
Stephen Harper has been spending money on ads ridiculing Dion for this inconsequential weakness ever since he became leader of the Liberal Party. It's all Harper's got on him and mirrors McCain's Ayers-based attacks on Obama. Dion wiped the floor with Harper in this election's French-language debate. Please don't propagate the hate.
