Early Voting In Florida And Nevada

20 Oct 2008 04:23 pm

The McCain campaign just finished a conference bragging about a good start to GOP early and absentee vote efforts in Florida.

Without getting into the numbers, it's probably worth waiting a week before either campaign can make solid brags. The long-lines in Democratic areas are fairly unprecedented. (Yes, people are lining up to vote early.)

Nevada journalist Jon Ralston passes along news from Washoe County, Nevada, where Democrats recently overtook the Republicans in terms of a registration advantage. 59% of the ballots that've been returned were requested by Democrats compared to 27% of the total requested by Republicans. Says Ralston: "I am sure the GOP turnout machine is going to kick in any day now."
