Obama's Own Joe The Plumber

18 Oct 2008 09:43 pm

Joe The Plumbers from around the country are recording telephone calls on Barack Obama's behalf. They're being paid for by state Democratic parties.

Here's a report out of Colorado.

And one from Virginia, from Shaun Dakin's national robocall registry:

Q20. In which state did this occur?  (NOTE:  If you live in CA or MN, please use our specific state forms)CA form.MN form.
A20. Virginia

Q21. If you can remember, what was the originating telephone number (from your caller ID, if you have one)?
A21. 804.318.5001

Q22. What was the content of the call?  Please be as specific as possible?
A22. A male voice saying his name was Joe , a plumber from Falls Church, VA, was calling about Barack Obama.  I have no idea what the message was, since I hung up for 10 seconds.  When I turned the phone back on, the call was still active.  He ended it by referring to "Joe the Plumber".

Q23. Who paid for the call?  (usually you would hear this at the end of the call, if at all)  For example "Paid for by John McCain for America"
A23. A female voice at the end of the call spoke extremely fast in order to make it legal while also being unintelligible.  I believe it was the Virginia Democratic Party which paid for it.

Q24. Do you have anything else to add?
A24. A reverse lookup on the phone number comes back to Cox Fibernet Commercial Services Inc, Chester, VA.
