In E-mail, McCain Thanks Supporters

07 Nov 2008 12:03 pm

Just sent to McCain supporters:

Cindy and I would like to take a moment to thank you for your loyal and steadfast support during the course of this campaign. Governor Palin, her husband Todd, our families, friends and campaign staff extend our deep appreciation for your tireless dedication, support and friendship.

It is the end of a long journey and your support through the ups and downs has meant more to us than you may ever know.

Although we were disappointed with the results, we must move beyond this campaign and work together to get our country moving again.

It is our sincere hope that you will join us in putting our country first and continue to work to keep our nation safe, free and prosperous.

We urge you to join us in not just congratulating Senator Obama, but offering our next president our good will and earnest effort to find ways to come together as a nation. Whatever our differences may be, we are all fellow Americans.

We are truly blessed to live in this great country and call ourselves Americans, and we will forever be her loyal servants.

Today, let there be no reason now for any American to fail to cherish their citizenship in this, the greatest nation on Earth.

With warm gratitude,

Cindy McCain

you mean Cindy McCain thanked supporters in an email - John doesn't... nevermind.

I'm still cherishing my citizenship, I'm just worried about what BHO has in store for us.

Classy email. Too bad there's always a few out there that simply refused to be reasoned with.

This country should be ashamed of themselves for voting for someone due to RACE not experience. Then again the majority of the people that voted for Obama are either BLACK or TWENTY Something. This is a sad day for America!!!!!!! The terriorist will find it easy to walk over the top of Obama and our country. Did we forget about September 11th? The sad part about this is that our children and grandchildren will pay the price for our decision today. Our country turned away a man who fought for our country, suffered for our country and was tortured because he believed in our country. When you lay down at night just picture the terriorist and others who don't believe in a free world, laughing at us, rolling their hands together, thinking, this is going to be like taking candy from a baby.

Now I sit back and wait so that my point will be proven in time. The majority just voted out our free world.

Senator McCain. On behalf of our country you fought so bravely for "I apologize". Thank you for being a part of the men and women that have helped keep out country free.

McCain might not have been elected as President, but his contributions to this country and his American maverick spirit will endure.

This great nation face some daunting challenges before us and the millions of voters who elected Obama, I hope, understands that we are first and foremost a "free market" and our core value of equality is about "equality of opportunity" and not "equality of condition."

It will serve this country immensely if we know the difference between "engaged citizenship" versus "entitled consumerism." In other words, we should not use our political process to distribute wealth. Our democracy is best when it protects fundamental human values i.e. life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. If we wish to have economic prosperity, we should use our intellectual ingenuity and diligence to create wealth.

We need to reform our educational system so that it is not a battle ground about innate abilities versus social conditions. We should vigorously enforce everyone to finish their compulsory education. We must respect, and more importantly remunerate, our teachers with decent wages. We must demand students to be responsible about their own learning.

The Great Society is not about elitist ideals, but mundane values - diligence, thrift, tolerance and honesty. Every American deserves to reach her/his American dream, but it must be by enriching the common good.

Can you please please help me keep my home. DESPERATE Thanks
